First licensed in 1997 as 9H5JO. Given HF privilages in 2001. Opted to retain the 9H5JO callsign. Operated for some years exclusively on the 10m band.

Due to family and work reasons (I am a BSc in Maths and Computing from University of Malta as well as an MBA from HeDley Management College [now the Business School of the University of Reading]) I was a quiet key (inactive on the air) but was the Field Day Manager for the Gozo Amateur Radio Society for several years.

Now QRV again since March 28th 2019. Rig: Yaesu FT991A usually transmitting at 100w only using two 2-element vertical beams for 20m - one pointing NW the other pointing SW. Preferred bands: 20m and 40m. I usually hang around the 14.260MHz and can be found sharing one frequency with my friend 9H5BZ.
