My name is Hector (Luigi) Perez. I am a long time enthusiast of the radio hobby in its broader sense. Since many years ago, I have been an active member of the ARRL, FIST CW Club, the Puerto Rico Amateur Radio Society and KP4DJ DX Group. I am also co-moderator of ONDACORTAPR, a forum dedicated to enhance and serve the Short Wave hobby within the Puerto Rico radio fans.

In Amateur Radio and as far as DXing goes, I have worked and confirmed over 237 countries so far.

Ever since I entered into ham radio, CW has been the only mode I have worked the most. I am very sad to see CW eliminated from the ugrading tests.

In Morse Code and Radio as a whole, I have been very fortunate to have a very nice group of friends that I have used as my mentors as well as radio affairs. Within them, I must mention: Methodist Reverend Manny Santiago NP4FE, Danny Ponce WP4F, Virgilio Rodriguez KP4Q, Carlos Osorio WP4N, Dr. Julio Medina NP3CW, Telesforo Figueroa KP4P, Jose Rodriguez WP4IIW, Felipe Guilfuchi WP4DMD and Charles Abrahamson NP3K.

They have all served as roll models as well as a real inspiration to me for their strong devotion and interest to both ham radio and CW.

As I mentioned, apart from amateur radio, I am an avid SWLer and radio enthusiast as well.

I also love to collect old AM Broadcast Radios having so far in my collection, some of the most well known brands: Philco, GE, Zenith, Motorola and Hallicrafters.

My current amateur radio gear is composed of a Kenwood TS-570S, a Kenwood TS-820, a TS-520S, an Icom 725 and a MFJ 9020 QRP.

My Morse Keys are: Vibroplex, Kent and a Navy Knob

My ant, is a MA5B 3 element Yagui.

My other long time hobby is Scouting on which I am a scout leader. I am also a Wood Badger and a member of the Vigil Honor at the Order of the Arrow.

I a have been married to Margarita Bofill for 36 happy years and we have two sons: Juan Carlos an Environmental Engineer grad from M.I.T. and Jose Eduardo a Cum Laude graduate from Sacred Heart University of Puerto Rico an outstanding creative designer.

Of all the things I know, I want to share them all, while one day, my days will end and I wont be able to pack anything to eternity but friendship and love.
