ABOUT MY QTH, IT´S LOCATED ON THE NORTH FRONT OF A MOUNTAIN AT THE TOP OF A 2 LEVELS HILL 865 M ASL DISTANT 25 KM FROM THE CITY OF CORO (NW SIDE OF VENEZUELA). RUNNING UP TO THE SIERRA (MOUNTAINS) THROUGH A MOUNTAIN ROAD, YOU WILL SPEND 30 MINUTES TO APPROACH AT MY HOME. IF YOU CHECK MY COORDINATES AND GL,YOU CAN SEE IN THE INTERACTIVE MAP (SATELLITE PHOTOS) THE RED ROOF-TOP OF THE RECTANGULAR WOOD HOUSE. THERE IS 2 WHITE LAWNCHAIRS ON THE NE SIDE AND A LITTLE WHITE DIAMOND ROOF ON THE SW SIDE. YOU CAN SEE TOO,THE ORANGES SMALL PLANTATION AT THE NW SIDE.THE MEDIUM TEMP AT THIS SITE IS 20ºC AND THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS BETWENN 50 AND 70%. THE EARLY MORNINGS ARE A BIT COLD WITH LIGH DRIZZLE; THE SUNSETS ARE NICE EVERY DAY AND FREQUENTLY WE HAVE FOG AFTERNOON; THE WINDS ARE BY GUSTS ALL THE YEAR, SOMETIMES SOFT AND OTHERS STRONGER WITH CALM PERIODS. FROM ANOTHER POINT OF VIEW, THERE IS AN INTERNATIONAL HIGH ALTITUDE AIRWAY (UG431) JUST OVER THE QTH, SO IS POSSIBLE TO SEE THE BIG COMMERCIALS AIRLINERS COMING FROM EUROPE TO SOME SOUTH AMERICAN CITIES: BOGOTA, QUITO AND LIMA. AT THE AFTERNOONS, THE IBERIA, TAP, AIR FRANCE,KLM AND LUFTHANSA AIRBUS A340-600 & A340-300 AIRCRAFTS ARE CRUISING THE SKY OVER THIS QTH LEAVING ITS CONTRAILS FROM NE TO SW.ALSO FROM MEXICO CITY TO CARACAS (SVMI) AN AEROMEXICO BOEING 737-800 CROSS OVER MY QTH EVERY MORNING AT 06:20 (LOCAL TIME) TO BE HEADING FOR THE EAST FROM THE WEST. I CAN HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR THE PILOTS REPORTING THEIR POSITIONS TO THE MAIQUETIA AREA CONTROL CENTER (SVMI ACC) ON 126.6 MHZ. ¡¡¡SO THA´S GREAT FOR AN AIRMAN GENTLEMEN!!!...
BECAUSE THE CARIBBEAN SEA IS NEARBY,I CAN SEE FROM THIS LOCATION THE ARUBA & CURACAO ISLANDS WHEN THE CEILING & VISIBILITY IS OK (CAVOK), SO NORMALLY I CAN DO LOS QSO´S ON 2 M BAND WITH P43 AND PJ2 STNS. SOMETIMES, ACCORDING TO THE OPENINGS, I´VE DONE QSO´S WITH KP4, HI & NP2 STNS THROUGH THE REPEATERS ON THOSE ISLANDS.
