Greetings, colleagues! My name is Pedro, and my callsign is CX4DPG.
I reside on the coast of the Río de la Plata estuary, a mix of river and Atlantic Ocean, in the seaside town of La Floresta, Canelones Department, Uruguay, about 52 km east of the capital, Montevideo.
I started in amateur radio in July 2024 after obtaining my license from URSEC.
For HF bands, I use a Yaesu FT-840 transceiver along with a Diamond W8010 multiband dipole antenna, covering the 10, 15, 20, 40, and 80-meter bands. For activations, I use the Yaesu FT-891 with a chained dipole antenna for 10, 20, and 40 meters.
For VHF and UHF, I operate with an Icom IC-2730 and a Diamond X300A dual-band antenna, and in my mobile setup, I use an IC-2710.
I am a member of the Radio Club Uruguayo, where I received my training for the exam and conducted my operational practice.
I regularly participate in weekly meetings with more experienced colleagues, which has helped me grow in this fascinating hobby.
Professionally, I work as a Sound Engineer and Cultural Manager.
Additionally, I am the proud father of Garo, my 5-year-old son.
I am very excited about POTA (Parks On The Air), dedicating a lot of energy to this activity, which I greatly enjoy with friends, family, and fellow operators.
