My call is KP4AKB/W8
I was first licensed as a novice and my call was WP4AKB in Ponce, Puerto Rico. That license expired after 1 year. After obtaining my General Class in 1957 my call changed from "W" to "K". In 1962 I came to Dayton, Ohio to study. Since then I have operated as Portable W8. The FCC no longer requires US stations sign as "portable". That is why my call appears as "KP4". Nowadays the number and prefix may not relate to where the station is located. I hope this clears up any confusion as to where I am located.
